This project involved the radical re-arrangement of a four storey semi-detached house in North London. Open plan levels with a dramatic cantilevered side stair provide a more fluid and contemporary arrangement than the original Victorian cellular rooms with central stair. The double height lower ground floor functions as the main entertaining room, with access to the rear garden. The existing interior of the building was entirely removed, allowing greater freedom to reconfigure the space. A glazed extension was added at the garden level to seamlessly extend the living area while providing a raised terrace at upper ground floor level.

We provided a complete service on this project, not only were we architects and contractors but we also designed all aspects of the interior: this included sourcing or designing bespoke furniture for all areas of the house and working within a carefully considered colour palette. This degree of control enabled us to deliver a project of a consistent high quality.

The house was short-listed at the Grand Designs Awards 2008 for Best Renovation.
